How not to destroy your Voice. #VoiceUsers

Maintaining a healthier Voice is wholesome, and if you may, a lifestyle -ish kind of thing, if you know what I mean 🤣🤣. I mean, you just don't wake up to a healthier Voice, but rather, a routine is over time followed, painstakingly, that gravitate you towards that healthier Voice that you've always desired.

Truth is, most people you admire, had put in the works required, and depending on other factors, like your upbringing, lifestyle, and even geographic location, which may impede on you achieving a healthier Voice. Depending on the above factors, you just have your work cut out for you.

But, the good news is, anyone can actually achieve a healthier Voice, or at least attempt to 🤣🤣🤣.

That said, on this First EPISODE on HOW NOT TO DESTROY YOUR VOICE by building a healthier Voice routine, the first I will be treating would be

EFFECTIVE BREATHING.

For every Voice User, by now you should know the importance of this to your voice. But if you didn't know, well, that's why I'm here to let you know, and you're welcome 😍🤩.

Your ability to breathe rightly, can either make or mar your performance, and if you've gained notoriourity on the opposite it may likely impede your voice quality, and over time, starve you off reaching Vocal potential.

Effective Breathing essentially consist of these three, first, your ability to,

✓. Breathe deeply, from your abdomen instead of the chest.

If you pay attention enough, you would notice that people tend to breathe from their chest when tensed. Notice I didn't say snap breathe, but rather chest breath, that is because there are some cases where you have to use Snap breath for professionalism. So you don't come across as someone who is drowning in between words or music notes.

✓. Breathe slowly. When you become nervous you breathe fast, or when you're surprised 🤩, that's why you say " you took my breath away". Obviously, if your breath is taken away, it means you can't, or couldn't breathe properly, at least at that moment. Breathing slowly not only give your word or music notes the right timbrel, it also gives you the time to manage your performance, and of course, breeds confidence in you.

✓. Try breathing in sets as your practice routine. If you've been doing it badly over time, chances are that your lungs and muscle are accustomed to that wrong way, so you need them to unlearn and relearn, the right way.

So, count to Five (1,2,3,4,5) inhale. Continue for another Five sets. Then, continue, but this time count to Five (1,2,3,4,5) while you exhale. You can increase the Count depending on how you're feeling, or continue at just Five, if you feel lightheaded.
